Accessibility - Folk Tale Shop

  • The Space

    Building:

Unfortunately The Eagle Block has physical barriers to entry and at this time is only accessible by a set of 15 or so stairs.

(we are working on an alternative location for those whom this regrettably excludes)

    Washrooms:
There is a shared gender neutral washroom with two individual stalls.

    The studio space:
There are no steps or stairs in the space.
At this time the service table requires a step up with or without the use of a step stool.

  • Health and Safety

Luxury Puff Esthetics studio space and processes follow Alberta Health Services guidelines. You trust me with your health and safety and I take that responsibility seriously.

That includes ensuring I am personally up to date with all recommended vaccines including Covid and the annual Flu vaccine.

Linens: laundered with hot water and bleach, mechanically dried.

Surfaces: disinfected with Benefect Botanical Disinfectant, or PreEmpt RTU

    Implements: disinfected with CS20

Air quality: A Blue Air Pro HEPA purifier is utilized in the space.

  • Allergens

General allergens: Some skincare products I use include nut oils/butters and other allergens. Care is taken to avoid cross contamination but can’t be guaranteed. Many of the skincare products that I use are appropriate for celiacs.

    Scents:
I use aromatherapy and scented products in the treatment room. Most of the products are fragranced using natural oils. Additionally, the hair salon uses scented products in the main space. If you require a fragrance-reduced service, please let me know via email or in your booking notes.

  • Sensory

The studio within Folk Tale Salon is semi-enclosed, so some sounds of blow dryers and chatter is heard in the space. I’m happy to adjust music volume and light levels for sensory sensitive guests to my ability, and earplugs and headphones are always welcome during treatments.

  • Trauma-Informed Body Work

I acknowledge that people have different needs and relationships to touch, especially those experiencing the complex after effects of trauma. You will be given an opportunity on your Intake form to share with me anything that would make the experience more safe and supportive for you.
