Land Acknowledgement

Luxury Puff Esthetics Studio is located in Moh'kinsstis, Treaty 7 territory; which includes the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (comprising the Siksika, Piikani, and Kainai First Nations), as well as the Tsuut'ina First Nation, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nation, and Metis Region III.

As a wellness and bodywork practitioner, I derive strength and motivation from the land, including the Elbow and the Bow rivers, foothills, prairie and mountain landscapes. Indigenous peoples' ongoing stewardship of these lands since time immemorial is essential to my work and livelihood. Indigenous technology and science from across the globe are responsible for the availability of many plants and herbs I work with in the studio.

Additionally, colonialism and colonial attitudes are entwined with the systemic discrimination against queer and trans people in North America. The freedom to create affirming spaces is made possible by centuries of Indigenous resistance.

I commit to my treaty responsibilities as a settler in Treaty 7 and reevaluate them continuously. These commitments for me include environmental stewardship, and a commitment to non-carceral public safety, and food security. Thanks to my community for your knowledge and labour in this ongoing project.
