Sustainability

Here are some ways I am working towards a more respectful practice that is light on the planet.

Resist

1% of profits redistributed to frontline environmental organizations like: Indigenous Climate Action and Raven Trust

Reduce

Ultimately the most sustainable consumer choice is “less”. My hope is that by investing in professional services, you can achieve your beauty goals and a sense of luxury and nourishment that enables you to purchase less mass produced consumer products.

I reduce the resources required to perform services by purchasing supplies in bulk, and purchasing high quality equipment that is under warranty or able to be repaired for longevity.

Purchasing from brands and distributors that are as local as possible reduces emissions associated with shipping.

Hospital grade cleaning supplies are selected based on biodegradability to reduce impact on our waterways.

Reuse

Reusable equipment and supplies are chosen wherever feasible and hygienic. Examples: laundered towels in replacement of paper or plastic barriers, laundered cleaning rags, stainless steel implements and dishes that can be disinfected. When reusable items are not acceptable for health and safety, biodegradable options are selected if possible. Examples include: biodegradable medical grade nitrile gloves, wooden disposable waxing sticks. Only a few disposable items used in the studio are plastic due to a lack of biodegradable alternatives.
